In 1999 the Ormond Movie Club (formed in 1937) and the Oakleigh Video Camera Club amalgamated to become the
Oakleigh Movie Club Inc. The Oakleigh Movie Club Inc. meets on the second and fourth Thursday Nights of each month
at the Monash City Library Theatrette (Melways map: 69 F7),
1st Floor, 148 Drummond Street, Oakleigh at 8pm. The first Thursday night of each month is normally a

The aim of the club is to promote the art of amateur movie making and to provide an opportunity for those
interested in movie making to share experiences in a convivial atmosphere.
A varied club programme caters for persons at all levels enabling members to gain experience
and knowledge on a range of movie making techniques and equipment.
Areas Covered Include:
Knowing how to get the best results from your video (Digital, S.VHS, VHSC, VHS) or film camera (8mm, 16mm)
Computer Editing (Non-Linear Editing)
Use of associated computer programs and ancillary equipment
Simple Editing
Camera Techniques
Shot Composition
Sound Recording
Preparing and Recording narrations
Visitors are always welcome to attend club evenings held on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, at the Monash
Library Theatrette, 148 Drummond Street, Oakleigh. Come and share your movie making experiences and problems with
fellow movie makers.
